Godstone Road Collapse update

Residents

Council tax/business rates relief

  • Tandridge District Council are putting plans in place to ensure impacted residents and businesses do not pay council tax or business rates while they are unable to return to their property.

Road/traffic issues

  • The Metrobus 400, 409 and 410 services are on diversion as they cannot use Godstone High Street. Passengers are advised to catch their bus from the Godstone Green bus stop (near the Needle's Bank public toilets) instead.  In addition, the 410 service will also be unable to serve the Crowhurst Mead or Church Lane bus stops on the A25 Oxted Road.
  • The A25 in Godstone is closed in both directions. Drivers should follow the diversion route via A25 Oxted Road, A22 Godstone Bypass, and Eastbourne Road. Parking restrictions will be in place on Eastbourne Road to reduce impact when schools reopen after half term week commencing 24 February until further notice. Affected parking areas will be signposted.
  • Surrey has contacted schools and school transport to ensure they are aware of the restricted access to the village and have plans in place.

The Parish of Godstone lies within the district of Tandridge in the County of Surrey and is made up of the three villages of Godstone, South Godstone and Blindley Heath.

  • The council aims to preserve and make accessible to others the rural charm of our environment, whilst supporting and developing the different activities that village life has to offer all its residents.
  • The Council office is located on the south side of Godstone Green at The Bounty, Godstone Green, Godstone, RH9 8DY.

Holes on Godstone Green

Given the openness of Godstone Green and accessibility to wildlife, the Council is aware that holes might appear on the Green periodically. We take every care to arrange to fill these holes where possible and as promptly as possible. Nonetheless, the Council would like to remind anyone who uses Godstone Green to take care when on the Green.
