To mark the Queen's Diamond Jubilee in the Parish, a number of events and activities are planned to take place over the first weekend in June 2012.
Godstone Parish Council invites everyone to come along on Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd June to Godstone Green to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.
Everyone in the Parish is invited!
Saturday 2nd June
5:00pm - Aerial photo - We aim to take an aerial photo, similar to the one taken in 2000, with residents from the whole Parish standing in the shape of a crown with 60 below. To be included you’ll need to assemble at 4.45 for the photo at 5pm. Copies of the photo will be sold to cover the cost. These can be ordered and paid for on the day. The Parish Council is grateful to Godstone Village Association for underwriting the cost of this part of the weekend’s celebrations.
3:00 to 9:00pm - Free concert - Everyone is invited to bring their own chair & picnic or purchase a burger from the Lions stall and a drink from the outside bar. This is designed to be fun for all the family.

Groups, especially, are requested to bring along a flag or symbol that represents their activities. It will be good to see what a diverse community we are.
All main Churches will be closed at this time so everyone can come along and join in.
On Sunday evening at 6pm, St John’s Church, Blindley Heath, will be holding a special Songs of Praise to mark the occasion.

Welcome to Godstone Parish Council. I hope you will find the site informative and helpful. It will take us some time to build the site so some of the headers will have little or no input at this time. With time and help from other local organisations, we will build and add items as we go along.
The Parish of Godstone lies within the district of Tandridge in the County of Surrey and is made up of the three villages of Godstone, South Godstone and Blindley Heath.
The council aims to preserve and make accessible to others the rural charm of our environment, whilst supporting and developing the different activities that village life has to offer all its residents.
The Council office is located at “The Bounty” to the rear of Godstone Green, as pictured right. |
